Rewriting the history or rewriting the future part1

Whenever there is any discussion about rewriting history, there are some voices of dissent and suspicion. Whether it is ‘Suffronizing’ history is one of the common objections. Again when there is an attempt to interpret present situation and predict future, in the light of those who foresaw future of India, there is some reservation. Two questions are often raised, though contradicting each other; we will try to answer them together. 1. Why we have been always emphasizing on History. It is of no use in today's modern world. Do you really think it can solve our present pressing problems? 2. Why we are not restricting ourselves only to History, why the present controversies, and Politics, Isn't it a way to hurt the sensitive areas unnecessarily? Why again there is a hypothesis that all truths are always known in the past and any new problem need not be having zero reference in the past? Following is the integral way of looking at the above questions: History is supposed to inspire the growing generation of the Nation, it is supposed to provide the ladders on which the young generation can climb to read what is written in the future. Nation is not a book which can be read from the page we left. That page is gone now. Any attempt of repeating the past is bound to fail. Any attempt which ignores the present cannot be complete. It is true that the tides of Time 'Kala' or Zeitegeist, do not spare anything or anyone. Mighty empires, Gigantic structures, elaborate scriptures, nothing is spared by Time. It is said that ‘History is struggle of Eternity in the meshes of Time.’ However, thoughts cannot be destroyed. History cannot be destroyed. It is always in the blood. It is always surviving under the ashes. Somewhere in the corner of minds. And one day or the other, the tapas of the millions gets polarised, mantras of the rishis, kirtanas of the saints, lullabies of the mothers, toil of the fathers. blood of brothers and tears of sisters are mixed by intellect of the thinkers and the doors of the Mother's temples are opened. The ash is blown away, the coal turns into fire, stone is chiseled into God, lambs roar like lions, the golden plate which had covered the face of the truth is removed, the mirror covered by smoke is cleared, life covered with womb comes to the world. Today we all are working, thinking , dreaming, learning, struggling, crying and praying for yet another 'Rebirth' of India. Swamiji said if a boy knows how great his ancestors were, he cannot fall down, he will try to become greater than his ancestors. Europeans knew this and so they twisted and perverted Indian History to such an extent that youths reading it for exam purpose hardly get any inspiration and in fact may develop a deep rooted inferiority complex. On the other hand, few of those cracking the arduous exams of for Civil Services, the cream of the cream of India, have told in their success stories that they chose History as an optional subject because it is a scoring subject. Therefore it is essential that the history of entire India, particularly history of areas like Northeast should be rewritten in proper or at least better understanding of the message this great Nation has to deliver, the mission it has to accomplish, the note it has to play in the harmony of the nations. Telling about only glory of the past doesn't mean that we are traditionalists, telling about the problems of today doesn't mean that we are pessimistic. Neither optimistic, nor pessimistic, our attempt is to be realistic. What should we do then?
