India’s contribution to Management : Pravir Mallick ..summary of the book

The possibility

a)      The Asian resurgence

Synthesis of spirit and matter.  1999 marks it. Hong kong returns from British to china, capitalism plus democracy. Asia got lost touch of matter, mayavadi vanished.

Materialist awakening in Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore became global powers. East spiritual and west materialistic now got synthesized.

This is young 25 yrs age for 50 % population.

Materialism, Utilitarianism… all movements have strongest expression in Asia itself.

Japan had feverish development of industries. 1998 Out of 10 largest companies in the world Japan had nine.  Japan imitated and surpassed the West.

Japan’s growth was growth for growth’s sake, conquering for conquering. Devour to devour.

eg.  Pharma industry and Petrochemical industry …manipulate molecular structure /state.. not curing but making profits and more profits was motto.

Won’t even mind if it destroys the earth, the real synthesis is now in Asia.

So far it was only on physical, vital and some extent mental level… now it is going to be spiritual as well. It will bring oceans of beauty, Power, Wisdom and Joy...Nature’s intention is that these deeper layers should become active, integrality of human being is to be the focus of future development.

Return of Macao  (Hongkong) so in four centuries now only entire Asia will be controlled by Asians.

b)      Role of corporation :

in world unity

islands and continents surrounded by water ..like soil surrounding seed

So controlling consciousness was difficult therefore India and national litt*

Unity was never achieved only thru physical force. But centuries before battle cries went further and brought these physical united.

Physical oneness has reached higher degrees by discoveries of deeper laws –like relation between motion and force leading to structures like cars and planes.. thi is is how world was united on commercial basis.and formed modern US. MNC spread from US across globe.

P12 : just as first physical organization is created and then life is breathed in it, so first physical structure is created and then ideas, money is breathed in it.

China’s reality is more to do with relation of deeper reality with outer circumstances, Europe and US reality is more with outer manifestation. Attention to China is the journey leading the world to substantially deep reality. Commercialization cannot be a basis of unification. But still is preparing  to bring collectivities together. Thru industrialization, mass production, consumer products. ..later with Telecom, IT… Physical and Vital unity brought it.

Now is the deeper work. The unity of soul

When new channels opened, India puts her content in it. Journey started from India and is now circling back. Standing at the doorsteps of India.

To transcend P.V. M and to be dictated by mastery of all knowing , all present, all powerful and all loving soul.

c)       Role of India:

After independence also India continued with many of the practices. .. India the conscious Goddess why allowed emulation, 50 yrs of alienation, and detour there must be a reason,

Embracing commefcialization, preparing for profound gift, today most of the world is progress equating to commercialization

Bu this manifestation was to express infinity, not for such petty purpose.

Rape murder , violence, loneliness, child abuse, disintegration of families, .. so the system created was not fullproof. Not perfect anyway.  But it gave outer machinery of faster roads, computers, and based on narrow path without regard to complex make up of individual and collective .. thi was bound to be inherently unstable.

Our real nature is five sheath. Any one alone if emphasized will lead to destruction.

The need for a new management framework

eg abortion..the arguments on both sides are partial. so is wih alll decisions in management

Man is confused by a situation where complex choices exist. need in complexity and variety.

to have a nonlinear thinking. knowing that all poi t of views are correct. The nature of mind ..the chief tool of managers is to divide, mass of ideas and desires exert their overt and covert influence. maladies are endless. pb only changes place like chroNic rhumaticism said Swamiji.

what he thought true is not man awakens to his incapacity.

p45 therefore it is necessaey to develop new tools. more comprehensive, other than his mentality. to master his environment, understand hidden fores, and to understand his own nature without which nothing can be mastered.

progress in matter, in AI medicine, Nanotechnology, ...facilitates tbis awakening, of man to possibilities. Humans are bwcoming or can be ome conscious collaboratorsin the destiny of the earth. Once some mastery achievd at micro level ie individual to better understand why and how he functions and who he really isas surely as sun, hr can see it in larger more macro level working of life as well.

life to be seen from more comprehensive angle. Knowledge of what is happening withjn and sround. Mustfor effective decision making and effective action.

Consciousness of manager shoukd change.

CHAPTER 2 ..MACROTRENDS

Physics atom wave particles oneness interconnectedess.

in geography also butterfly efFect.

Ttends for future.

Progress in matter raised man from slumber so drram is becoming t

reality from skyscrapper to Nanochips.

Human becoming conscious collaborator in destjny of the earth.

remove fear, anxiety, destructive thoughts, limit, prejudice, biases, inertia and anger.

Financial health of economy not in few parameters, but on weather, on president's health as well.

Manahement will also reveal.the same universal trend.

organization.            social framework

competitiors

for whom they will prodice

what they will produce

why they will produce

...the three is strategy

market share, / marker growth/ sales/ costs

B. Reengineering. customer value creating processes.

a) is ext. focus

b) is internal focus

today world is only melting point.

forces at current state of eqhilibrium in dance how they should or cange.

1. next stage in decision making

individualization  is focus of Nature  for all of us.

internal.       external

reengg.        strategy

grow oranges.  how to eat oranges

individzn.   externzn

strategy alone will not work, value by reengg and indivjdualiztion

all around us isbthru conceptualization of individuals.

both good and bad are brought by individuals, in evolution.

Eistein, Gandhi, Hitler,

organization not only for realizing mental concept in matter but fkr humanity to evolve.

P57

organization becones lab, induviduak is confronted with fear, anxiety, can overcome then and realize.

Once  an organization reaches critical mass then it can influence society.

organization moulding for progress of individual and thereby society. sense of interconnectedness and oneness in all.beings.

p 59 The digital economy

is different from industrial ecoNomy of 2nd wave and agrarian economy of first ave.

every major change happens in context, the context is evolution of life. As species evolve from be...features and ability economics evolves for better possibilities of human evolution.

1.       Computers use easy and universal

2.       Telecom  fiber optic cable high bandwidth geostationary satellites

3.       Software packages enhancing capability of person

4.       Universally accepted communication protocol  .. various docs can be ubiquitously exchanged

5.       Digitization...virtualization--

Images ..entire store and merchandise

India and organizations can conduct meaningful work at conceptual level before bringing it to physical level.

6.       Knowledge intensively – Automobile, TV, Refrigerator, music  system, …each device is getting individualistic.

7.       Net series streaming at will for entertaining and even stories altered as per individual’s choice

Monolithic…Molecular thought and action.

P62

The one size, one colour fits all is defunct philosophy embedded microprocessor, individualistic model, large spectrum of differentiating functions, each user’s life can be more comfortable and liveable.

Digital economy – is a shift from monolithic and molecular thought

Individual can be more easily making their ideas a reality. As they have better access to global networks. So empowerment occurs naturally. Now individual can freely express knowledge create or dynamize it collectively with select unit groups, so that in effect a planned collectivity comes into being.

Corporates now concentrate on core competencies giving other functions to specialists. Convergence implies coming together of many industries. Consumer directly in touch with producer

Work can be done  at concept level before material level. Individuality is operating in a planned collectivity.
